About Us
Hi, I’m Loliwe Phiri, a professional photographer based in Lusaka, Zambia. I have lived in Lusaka and Copperbelt, Zambia and in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa. Besides holding a double major Degree in Development Studies and Library and Information Science from the University of Zambia and a Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance with Fordham University. I have over 9 years of experience in the photography industry. I specialize in capturing powerful images that tell the stories of Humanitarian efforts, Events and Corporate in Africa and Zambia. My passion lies in highlighting the work of International NGOs and local organizations making a positive impact in the world.
I have traveled to some of the most remote and challenging locations to document the resilience of communities and the impact of Aid. I strive to create visually evocative images that not only inform but inspire action. I understand the importance of storytelling for nonprofits and organizations working for a better world, that's why I work closely with my clients to understand their assignment so that when I go out and work in the field, I create a visual narrative that aligns with that.
I am passionate about photo story-telling. I am part of a global photo collective called the journal of several hundred women and non binary photographers who have come together to create a profound avenue for connection, networking, creativity and support.
Whether you're looking to capture the spirit of an event, the joy of a wedding, the beauty of a location, or the impact of a project, Loliwe Photography has the skills and expertise to create powerful and meaningful images.
Hi, my name Tamara Phiri, I am a Videographer, and Photographer based in Lusaka, Zambia. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Public Relations at Cavendish University Zambia, and because of my love for video production, I obtained a certificate with distinction in Video Editing acquired from TEVETA.
My journey into the world of visual storytelling began three years ago with Loliwe Photography, where I sharpened my skills in photography and video production. Currently, as part of the CURE International team, I have written over 50 impact stories since July 2024, each one a testament to my commitment to capturing powerful narratives that inspire change. My passion for storytelling is rooted in my childhood, influenced by my father, who spent over 30 years in the media industry before retiring.
He worked with BBC world service, DW TV, and ZNBC our local broadcasting network. His relentless pursuit of knowledge in broadcasting took him across continents, sharpening his craft and igniting a spark within me! Listening to stories about his journey taught me the power of storytelling and the importance of giving a voice to the voiceless. Today, I am driven by the desire to be part of the change we want to see in the world. Whether behind the camera or storytelling, I am dedicated to capturing moments that resonate with my advocacy for humanitarian work. For me, storytelling isn’t just about documenting events; it’s about connecting people to stories that matter, one frame and one word at a time.
